here is the deal:
i really love imogen heap's artistry.
"holding out for a hero" from the shrek soundtrack.
{not kidding- that is actually a true story . . . and the soundtrack isn't half bad as i recall}.
~~~
side story . . .
btw- totally shocked at the number of fan-made anime videos that showed up for that song on youtube;
astounded upon further research.
seriously?
~~~
anyway . . .
i almost never listen to the radio.
in fact, i generally try to avoid it
{there is only so much britney and lil' wayne a girl can take}.
that is except for, like, two stations every now and then that play fun music in the evening {usually on my way home from the gym} like metric, owl city, passion pit . . .
BUT THIS WEEK
i can't seem to find my ipod converter anywhere
{it will probably turn up once i clean my bedroom . . . in another 3 weeks when i have the time}.
so, i've been forced to turn on the radio {ugh, please no more miley, please!!!} when my cds just don't hit whatever my ears crave.
getting to my point:
i must have heard jason derulo's "whatcha say" 8-billion times this afternoon.
actually, probably only twice.
now hear me out.
i have nothing against pop/r&b.
sometimes i even listen to it willingly {shocked?}.
still, my heart feels the use of my fave track from imogen's "speak for yourself" album as a hook does it some major injustice.
not to mention that using the word "watcha" really does kill me.
this is probably one of those songs that i won't like until
i hear it in some fun context
{dancing with my friends, car drive with a fun group of people . . . experiences such as these tend to improve songs that are by themselves simply horrid}.
